Patent Drawings for Geodesic Structures

I stumbled on Buckminster Fuller's patent drawings for geodesic domes today – so I thought I'd re-post them here.

Where structural innovation and the U.S. government intersect.

Of course this puts me in mind of The American Pavilion at Expo '67 in Montreal. Jeff, how about a post on THAT building, and some of the other structures there. That was my introduction to Fuller, as a nine-year old. Mind expansion was big in 67!

Just found them at the site linked in the post. Sorry that doesn't help very much! You could try contacting the Fuller Institute.

The current Bucky exhibit at the Whitney in NY is pretty cool. They have some of these patent drawings if I recall. If you can't attend, the catalog is available online from the Whitney store: Link: http://www.whitney.org/www/store/index.shtml

There is also a Bucky symposium at Sept 12 + 13 at The Great Hall of the Cooper Union
