Siting the City
[Image: A few sites worth visiting in LA, according to the participants of Postopolis! LA; view much larger].ForYourArt has diagrammed some of the favorite sites in and around Los Angeles for the participants of Postopolis! LA, producing this map.
It's by no means exhaustive, and is, in fact, best viewed as a very casual list of places worth seeing around town; but I'm personally excited to have included Topanga State Park, the "world's largest wildland within the bounds of a major city," Griffith Park, the overly child-friendly but undeniably surreal La Brea Tar Pits, the otherworldly gardens of the Huntington Library in Pasadena, the absurdly great Abbot's Pizza, Small World Books, and the Center for Land Use Interpretation.
I think it's exciting and interesting, as well, that Dan Hill from City of Sound simply recommends taking a bus...
Postopolis! LA starts Tuesday night at 5pm on the roof deck of the Standard Hotel, with a presentation by Fritz Haeg.
And the weather right now looks good.

I'll save this away for the next time I visit LA. I'd love to see something like this for SF.
