Snake Of Earth

[Image: The Earth, as it appears from above, outside Mexican Hat, Utah: sliced by the great lobed canyons of a desert riverbed. I believe you're looking down at Goosenecks State Park. Images collected via Google Maps. View bigger. Earlier: Fossil Rivers].

Why does this picture almost make me cry? Is it really only because I have an incipient migraine, or that I am a giant sap, or is there something else here?

Yah, the Goosenecks are just a little to the left of center at bottom, especially that one bigger lobe. Top and middle-right is Valley of the Gods. Upper left, fringed by white, is Cedar Mesa, and one of my favorite things.

It's all even more achingly beautiful close-up.

Blaize - It is an unbelievably beautiful image, so... maybe you're not just a giant sap!

Anon, thanks for the link.
